RAISING OUR LAND (Epsode 3)
RAISING OUR LAND
“Thus says the LORD, In an acceptable time have I
answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve
you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate
heritage…”(emphasis mine)

EPISODE 3: THE BLESSER AND THE ENTREPRENEUR
Knowing that Adam was blessed from the
beginning of the world is very important, because this shows God’s intent for
man. To be blessed is a state, a substance or energy that produces blessings. Dr.
Bill Winston says that when you are blessed, the blessed state clings unto you;
it can never be washed or removed (paraphrasing). – but if you do not know it
even exists, nor believe in its works, then you may not see it manifest fully
in your life. The power to succeed in all things, which being blessed produces
depends majorly on the Blesser – that
is, on the one who imputes the blessing upon the blessed. This Blesser usually indicates the terms and
conditions of which the blessing can be received. In some cases, there are no
terms and conditions – for example, the case of Adam, God made him and blessed
him all by himself; in other cases, there are conditions – for example, Abram
was told: “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy
father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee.” Upon obedience, Abraham
received the blessing and the resultant blessings. The Blessed state is usually
sustained by the Blesser, meaning
maintaining a good relationship with the Blesser
is paramount, for disconnect from He that blessed is disconnect from power
to sustain the blessing. The Blesser imputes
the blessing by speaking- that is, the blessing is voice triggered! However,
receiving the blessing is by believing the promises and knowing in your knower that
the Blesser is true and has the
ability to manifest and sustain the blessing. Need I say that the Blesser is God?
Blessings are the fruits or results of a
blessed life. So when God declared Adam Blessed, He went on to define the
blessings which Adam’s blessed state must produce, they include:
God
said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue
it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I
have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth,
and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it
shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the
air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life,
every green herb for meat: and it was so. Genesis 1: 28 -30
The planting of the Garden of Eden and
the creation of the Woman out of Man is a response to the blessing upon Adam
and a proof of God’s faithfulness. The resources in the garden ensured man had
the tools to be fruitful, domineering and also served as his meat; while the
woman made replenishment possible.
Truly, whom the Lord blesses, is rich –
for the blessing of the lord maketh rich and God adds NO sorrow unto it (Provs
10: 22). The blessings listed cover every need or want that Adam could ever
have. The nature of God is obviously to create, and to love unconditionally all
that he creates including providing for their every need.
“Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye
shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more
than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow
not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father
feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought
can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they
spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more
clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall
we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth
that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”Matthew 6:
25 -33.
The relationship between Man and the
earth dates back to the beginning of time. From the book of Genesis, we can
define this relationship as symbiotic – meaning it was a sort of ‘you scratch my back, I scratch your back’ kind
of relationship. For Man’s body was made out of the substance of the earth, and
the survival of that body ultimately also depends on the fruits the earth
produces. Yet, the earth also depends on Man for its productivity Genesis 2:
4&5.
At the same time, the bible also shows
us what I will call the ‘Factors of Production’ at the time of creation. We see
these factors clearly stated in Genesis 2: 5. They include: Rain, which comes
from God; Seed laden Earth, which comes from the words of God and Man to till
the ground (Man also comes from God). There is a cycle or connection that shows
that everything comes from God, but man reaps the benefit of the produce, and
God takes the glory. That man is productive is so important to God, if it
weren’t he wouldn’t have placed the productivity of the earth in his care.
Comparing these factors to the Factors
of Production the world recognizes today, which includes in no particular order
Entrepreneurship, Land, Labour and Capital; we can conclude that God is the
Entrepreneur, as He owns the idea of
creation all by Himself. God also provides the capital, all the tools
needed to produce. Of course, Land is the Earth and Man is the labourer. This
means that Man was basically made to produce under the instruction and
supervision of God. This is most likely why after Adam chose a name for the
animals, God, the supervisor would stamp His approval. Upon approval it
becomes! In this process Man works with the land (the Earth) and the capital
provided by God, to fulfill the purpose of God.
As the genius entrepreneur that God is, when
he finds his labourer being productive, He prunes that one, to ensure more productivity.

John
15:1 - 2 I AM the True Vine, and My
Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that
stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He (God) cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues
to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.
This relationship between Man and the Earth became more interesting after...
