Isildur's Sword

Isa_42:22  But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

None saith Restore!

None Saith Restore!!

None saith RESTORE!!!

Yes, I and I have messed up, and we have gone up to the throne of grace to receive mercy.

We have learned and do experience the efficacy of the blood and water of the Lamb, which is able to ensure the forgiveness of our sins and the purification of our souls respectively, and we are seated at the right hand of the Father.

I and I (bear with me have been listening to some goodly root rock reggae of recent) also know that Jesus isn't counting scores as humans do, ... I forgave you once, twice and now am done says the typical human. Jesus says come and keep coming until you don't need to come anymore because you have overcome.

The headline verse shows people robbed, spoiled, snared, imprisoned and preyed upon whether by their fault or not. These people need a deliverer! but not only that, I and I also need a restorer.

If someone is attacked and his property carted away, he needs both a deliverer and a restorer.

Jesus is both of these things to us.

Being delivered comes first, because if you keep restoring things to the person under attack, that person will keep losing out on that which was restored.

However, I and I usually stop short of seeing Jesus as a restorer. We only focus on him as a deliverer and when we believe we have been delivered from something we never ask him to restore onto us that we had lost.

The psalmist said: He restoreth my soul

Joel_2:25  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

This verse moves me, because it talks about restoring time. People can help restore money, even health, doctors can help restore that, but the time, no one can restore, not even Dr Strange. But here God is saying I will restore to you not days, not weeks or months, but years!

Why do we not see God restoring? Because none saith Restore! We mostly say Deliver! and we are satisfied.

An Analogy from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings: When Isildur fought Sauron and Isildur's blade was broken, Isildur used the shard to cut off Sauron's ring finger and victory emerged for the time being. But until the Sword was restored by Elrond for Aragorn, Isildur's heir, there was no King in Minas Tirith. A King was needed to completely defeat Sauron.

You are still useful to God broken, but I and I can't fulfill destiny without being restored. selah.

Isa 49:2  And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

If God can restore Time, there are no limits...

1Sa 30:1  And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

1Sa 30:2  And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.

...

1Sa 30:6  And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

1Sa 30:7  And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

1Sa 30:8  And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

...

1Sa 30:10  But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.

The process of restoration might be painful, but help is available at the throne of Grace.

1Sa 30:18  And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.

1Sa 30:19  And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.

The years and goods I and I have spent fulfilling the lust of the flesh, eyes and the pride of life shall be restored in Jesus name, Amen.

The years and goods I and I have lost due to being robbed, spoiled, snared, imprisoned and preyed upon shall be restored in Jesus name, Amen.

Bruh, come to Jesus for the restoration of your soul today.

Lord, RESTORE!
