Unreasonable Obedience

Many things have been said of Apostle Peter, he seemed to be someone who was easily swayed, however there are instances when you realize that that man's obedience and loyalty to Jesus was unquestionable.

Imagine if you needed money and your pastor told you to go and catch a fish and there you will find money, how would you respond? You would probably say He is unreasonable. But Peter's walk with Jesus was such that he was sure that every word that Jesus said was so sure.

Okay, you argue that your Pastor is only human and he is not Jesus, so you cannot have that kind of blind faith in him as Peter had in Jesus. Then, what about the Holy Spirit who is indwelling you? Do you know His voice? Do you recognize Him as God? Do you listen to Him? Do you obey His every command, no matter how unreasonable it is? It is Kenneth Hagin that said faith is of the heart and not of the head. You can have faith in your heart even if you have doubts in your head. This shows that no matter how unreasonable the words of the Holy Spirit are to us, we must learn to "trust and obey". As the old Christian song says "Trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey".

In Nigeria today, as Christians, we need to trust and obey, we need to have that unreasonable obedience to the Holy Spirit, whether we have received understanding about the instructions given or not. This is how we would thrive in these times.

My prayer is that God would help us recognize, listen and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit completely and every weapon of the enemy that is deployed in our lives for us to doubt His voice is thwarted today. Amen. Thank you Jesus.
